IT'S NOT ONE SIZE FITS ALL

Devotee comment:
Some instructions like Gita are always true. Prabhupada's purports to his books were channeled in the dead of night...He said Krishna wrote those. They seem always true to me - a fallible being. But time, place circumstance instructions to certain people like in Prabhupada's letters or room conversations were never meant to be publicised. Prabhupada didn't want it. Certainly to try to apply them to all people in all times and places is a huge disservice to Prabhupada's reputation and people's faith. It has created havoc and turned ISKCON from a universal spiritual movement into a fanatic

Open to interpretation. This interpretation problem is even there with His books, especially now that the editing is allowed. But it is not as easy to do that with the books, since His purports are very, very clear. But yes you have made a very good point. The private communications between Himself and an individual are just that. And very easily taken out of context. To one person He may say stop your job and devote 100% to preaching. To another person He may say, keep your job and donate to the preaching. It is not one size fits all for the details.
