Maha Vishnu expands again as Garbhodakasayi Vishnu to enter all the universes manifest from Maha Vishnu. Sometimes Garbhodakasayi Vishnu is asleep resting there one in one of the unverses, brahmanandas, and at that time the planets and all the activities of the living entities are not manifest. Everything is absorbed into His body in an unmanifest state. After a while Garbhodakasayi Vishnu is awakened by the Vedas personified who surround Him by offering prayers.
If anyone has ever doubted the power of prayer...here is a great
description of the power of prayer. This also applies to the sankirtana
movement and the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra... the great
mantra for deliverance.
This action of awakening Garbhodakasayi Vishnu is discussed by a gathering a sages and saints on Jana Loka. The head of the discussion is Sanandana Kumara one of the four saintly sons of Lord Brahma.
Sanandana said, 'After the dissolution of the whole cosmic manifestation, the entire energy and the whole creation in its nucleus form enters into the body of Garbhodakasayi Vishnu. The Lord at that time remains asleep for a long, long time, and where there is again necessity of creation, the Vedas personified assemble around the Lord and begin to glorify Him, describing His wonderful transcendental pastimes. It is exactly like a king: when he is asleep in the morning, the appointed reciters come around his bedroom and begin to sing of his chivalrous activities, and while hearing
of his glorious activities, the king gradually awakens.' " KB 2-32
