You know how it happens, that sometimes there is some confusion or discussion that just seems not to get to the conclusion... And just hangs in the air? Ever have the experience that within a very short time... just the perfect answer is there in one of Srila Prabhupada's books?
There has been heated back forth over the origin of jiva... People bringing in all sorts of references from different sources, other spiritual masters, questionable translation of previous acaryas, etc.and contradictions, arguments, bickering, offenses and stomping.
Everything is spelled out in perfection in Krishna Book chapter 2.32.
Srila Prabhupada is very, very clear. This question, the origin of the
jiva is at the root of impersonalism which is what our disciplic line is
specifically mandated to defeat.
My dear friends and associates I beg of you, please read Srila Prabhupada's books. They are His mandated service from Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati. Everything else is there to support these books. Let us not miss the point.
I remember in one temple just after Srila Prabhupada's disappearance, when following His instructions and program was become clouded, priorities were become degraded and there was much confusion. Which is understandable for a society in mourning. We went through the morning program. Up at 4 am, mongol arotika, Tulsi arotika, japa, greeting the Deities, guru puja, and breakfast. Sorry no time for Bhagavatam class. Too much to do. If we had not done any of those other things but had simply read Srimad Bhagavatam we would not have missed the point of it all.
Without hearing from the Pure Devotee we are missing the point.
