A disturbance...you say? Ah, The "thought" of a disturbance is more like it. In Vrndvanda I've heard there are no demons, no disturbances, only the rumor (the thought) of them. But those rumors must be overwhelming nonetheless. For those residents of Vraja, just the thought of a moment's separation from their beloved Lord is unbearable. Simply the rumor that a demon (disturbance) is present is intolerable.
How can we, who are so entangled in mental and gross pursuits on the material plane, ever hope to be able to experience the intense love of God of the residents of Vraja? We who do not even consider love of God for a moment, while they cannot consider lack of it for even a moment.
The gap is bridged by the Lord's Representatives. Those loving devotees who walk among us immersed in love of God amid those who have no love of God. Such pure souls are all attractive...On the one hand to those who crave to fill their emptiness with love of God and cling to them like iron filings to a magnet and on the other hand to those who are envious and spit and sputter and offer abuse even to the point of killing.
Ragahunatha das Goswami is such a devotee of the Lord Krishna Chaitanya. He has written many beautiful verses to share his innermost emotions. Such writings are the great treasures pure souls leave behind so that we may be able by their mercy to also get a taste. I fall at the feet of these great souls. By hearing from them with love and submission the heart becomes completely cleansed and love of God awakens.
I meditate on the smiling prince of Vraja, whose splendid dark complexion rebukes a host of monsoon clouds, whose garments are like molten gold, whose lotus face is charming with a gentle smile, whose transcendental body is expertly decorated, and who speaks many clever joking words as, maddened with playful amorous passion, He embraces Shrimati Radhika to His left.
