HE IS NOT A HUMAN BEING

Lord Krishna is not a human being like we are human beings. He is the Supreme Being. When he has something to do in human society He appears as a human being and acts perfectly. His activities as a human being are all extraordinary.

"When Lord Kṛṣṇa was within this universe, He seemed to be a human being because He appeared in a manner just suitable for His pastimes in the mortal world. He did not appear in human society in His Vaikuṇṭha feature with four hands because that would not have been suitable for His pastimes." SB 3.2.12

Actually we're not human beings either. We are spiritual beings, not the Supreme Being, that's Lord Krishna, but we are like Lord Krishna in that we are spiritual beings.

NO FEAR

No fear.
Several of my neighbors are experiencing aging. They came to Florida to retire and have been here for several years. For some their lifetime companion has passed away and they are alone. The children if there are any live far away. They have pets. A dog. A cat.

One neighbor tried to do too much. Something they would have been able to do easily a few years ago was now too exhausting. They took a long drive to visit friends. But it was too much. So they are feeling tired and confused and depressed. What is happening to me?
And now fearful. Who will take care of me?
Panic is setting in. I see it on their faces.

Another one just had a car accident and is not allowed to drive for three months.
Someone else their wife passed away after a long disabling disease and he is left with the old dog and a life alert pendant in case he falls down.

Another neighbor is in his 90's and his wife is with him. They are both very frail and can hardly walk. The home health care nurse comes two times a week. Their son takes her shopping.
There is fear. I see fear on their faces. Losing control of their lives. Of their finances. Of their health. Losing control.

But where was there ever any real control?
Only the illusion of independence and control.
The devotee is fearless knowing this.

Let me practice 24 hours to hear and chant and remember the glorious Lord.
Lord Krishna is there. Appearing in so many ways.
Not the least of which are His beautiful Deity forms....
Just to allow us to learn how to approach Him.

MANAGEMENT

Some of the difficulties of management can be understood from the chastisement of Indra.
Srila Prabhupada explains that the demigods are administrators of universal affairs on behalf of the Lord. They are servants of the Lord for management within the material universe. People in general are advised to worship the demigods as a way to acknowledge the supremacy of the Lord. After all they are recognized by Him as administrators and are given all facilities to perform their duties.

"The demigods are servants of the Lord deputed to look after the management of various activities of universal affairs. Therefore it is advised in the Vedic scriptures that one should perform yajñas to appease the demigods." SB 3.2.32 purport

But, and here is the "big but," for those who already acknowledge the Lord it is not necessary to worship the demigods. Such persons worship the Lord Himself.

"But one who is devoted to the Supreme Lord has no need to appease the demigods." SB 3.2.32 purport

The demigod managers become confused from time to time by receiving all the worship of others and they actually forget the Lord, Which means they forget their position as servant and representative authority for management of material affairs only.

This happens to Indra. When the Lord arranged for worship of Govardhana and the cows showing how this worship was as good as worship of Lord Krishna Himself... the master of Indra... Indra's pride was challenged. He could not recognize his own relationship with Lord in the situation.
That means his idea of Himself and the Lord had become clouded. How could anyone worship the Lord without worshiping him, Indra, first? Why would anyone even need to worship the Lord if they simply worshiped him, Indra. Indra was supplying everything they needed for material opulence. Rain for growing crops and grasses for the cows. What need had they to worship Lord Krishna?
Indra had lost is spiritual vision. This is the situation for conditioned souls when in contact with the material nature... blinded by the glare. How much more difficult for King Indra whose residence is so opulent? We can not even imagine. He is the King of the heavenly planets. What sense gratification is not available there? Long life, no disease.. death yes, but no disease. How much more confusing.
And everyone in the universe worshiping you. And you having the facilities to supply their material needs. We cannot even imagine how bewildering that could become. So from time to time Indra becomes bewildered. Lord Krishna has his ways of rectifying Indra's mentality. The lifting of Govardhana Hill in Vrndavan lila is one way Lord Krishna was able to humble King Indra.
Worshiping Lord Krishna, His Name. pastimes, form.. always trumps worship of the demigods.

There was another time King Indra became confused and challenged Lord Krishna. This is in the Dvarka lila as regards the parijata tree.

Indra is indeed a henpecked husband. His beautiful wives captivate him. When Lord Krishna removed the parijata tree from the heavenly planet to offer to Satyabhama, King Indra thought Lord Krishna was a henpecked husband like himself. To please His wives, headed by Saci devi, Indra attacked Lord Krishna with military force. He was defeated and again was humbled so that he could again understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead's position.

Indeed what looked like a henpecked husband, Srila Prabhupada explains, was not the case in the least. Lord Krishna has so many beautiful queens, Satyabhama is one, but He is not controlled by them. For Lord Krishna his offering of the tree to Satyabhama was simply a way to reciprocate the loving devotion Satyabhama offers to Him. In any case, everything belongs to Lord Krishna anyway. King Indra appears to have temporarily contracted the "Me, My and Mine" disease.

"He [Indra] forgot that the Lord is the proprietor of everything and cannot be henpecked. The Lord is fully independent, and by His will only He can have hundreds and thousands of wives like Satyabhāmā. He was not, therefore, attached to Satyabhāmā because she was a beautiful wife, but He was pleased with her devotional service and thus wanted to reciprocate the unalloyed devotion of His devotee." SB 3.3.5 purport

WHY THEY ARE NOT PUNISHED RIGHT AWAY?

Why is it that Lord Krishna doesn't immediately punish those who inconvenience His devotees?
The Pandavas are the perfect example. They were put into so many difficulties. Certainly Lord Krishna always protected them. Like when Draupadi was insulted in the assembly and Dushasana tried to take her clothes off in front of everyone. Lord Krishna supplied unlimited cloth. But... He didn't do anything to "punish" the offenders.

Here Srila Prabhupada explains why and it is very instructive....

"When Draupadī was insulted in the assembly by the Kurus by their attempt to see her naked in the presence of all, the Lord protected Draupadī by supplying an unlimited length of clothing. But He did not chastise the insulting party immediately. This silence of the Lord did not mean, however, that He excused the offenses of the Kurus. There were many other kings on earth who had become very proud of three kinds of possessions...wealth, education and followers... and they were constantly agitating the earth by movements of military strength. The Lord was just waiting to get them together on the Battlefield of Kurukṣetra and kill them all at one time, just to make a short-cut in His killing mission." SB 3.1.43 purport

But that isn't all there is to it. There's more as to why the Lord may wait to correct a situation. How deep is this! Out of love for his devotee he wants to see His devotee glorified.
"The Lord always wants to see His devotee as the hero of some episode which He Himself performs. He wanted to see His devotee and friend Arjuna as the hero of the Battle of Kurukṣetra, and thus He waited for all the miscreants of the world to assemble. That, and nothing else, is the explanation of His waiting." SB 3.1.43 purport

"...That and nothing else..."

If things aren't going all that well right now for disciples and followers of His Divine Grace I can only conclude that the Lord has something big in mind. He is setting something up for a great devotee. That seems to be His style of loving reciprocation.

NOT AN ORDINARY PERSON

The Supreme Person performs many miracles. When they are being enacted no one questions that anything out of the ordinary is happening. It all seems perfectly understandable. Wonderful for sure but somehow it all makes perfect sense.

Like a small child lifting a large hill to act as an umbrella and everyone huddled under it for shelter from torrential rains. But when the Lord is present there is nothing impossible. He is the creator of everything. the maintainer and the destroyer also. As they say the "beginning, the middle and the end."

He is not an ordinary person like us. He is unlimited. At some point He will reveal how this is so. Then everything will make perfect sense. Like coming out of the darkness of night, the sun rising on the horizon. Until then we keep hearing about His glories, eventually the Krishna sun will rise in the heart.

LIKE BROKEN TOYS

How very perfect the Lord's pastimes are. He plays the part perfectly for the pastime.
There is a beautiful section in the SB 2.3.2. This is around verses 25 to 30 or so. Uddhava is remembering the pastimes of the Lord in Vrndavan.

Uddhava was the only resident of Dvarka to be allowed entrance to Vrndavan. Akrura was the only resident of Mathura to be allowed entrance to Vrndavan. Akrura was sent by Kamsa to take Krishna out of Vrndavan. Uddhava was sent to Vrndavan to relieve the distress the residents were feeling in Krishna's absence.

Akrura was cursed by gopis and so had to become implicated in the Syamantaka theft and murder of Satrajit the father of Satyabhama, one of Lord Krishna's principal Queens. Uddhava was blessed by gopis with the highest mood of ecstatic love for the Lord.

Uddhava is describing the Lord's pastimes with the cowherd boys, the beautiful setting of Vrndavan with it's trees full of fruits, the fragrant flowers, the flowing river, and all the birds and other animals all there simply to enhance the Lord's pastimes.

"The forests on the shore of the Yamunā are all beautiful gardens full of trees of mango, jackfruit, apples, guava, oranges, grapes, berries, palmfruit and so many other plants and fragrant flowers. And because the forest was on the bank of the Yamunā, naturally there were ducks, cranes and peacocks on the branches of the trees. All these trees and birds and beasts were pious living entities born in the transcendental abode of Vṛndāvana just to give pleasure to the Lord and His eternal associates, the cowherd boys."

And then there are the different demons who come to try to kill Lord Krishna who is playing like a child. Srila Prabhupada describes these demons as wizards able to appear in any form or shape. It is wonderful how they assumed such unusual shapes and forms. A giant duck, an ugly witch disguised as a goddess, a fat serpent miles long...

A child's world is filled with unusual shapes and larger than life images. Go into any child's room and you will find unusual toys in very unrealistic forms. Like caricatures of something. A bird toy isn't just a bird, it's a giant bird with unusual exaggerated features brightly colored.

"The atheist Kaṁsa wanted to kill Kṛṣṇa just after His birth. He failed to do so, but later on he got information that Kṛṣṇa was living in Vṛndāvana at the house of Nanda Mahārāja. He therefore engaged many wizards who could perform wonderful acts and assume any form they liked."
Srila Prabhupada compares Lord Krishna's dealings with these demons as a child playing with toys that get broken in the course of playing.

"All of them appeared before the child-Lord in various forms, like Agha, Baka, Pūtanā, Śakaṭa, Tṛṇāvarta, Dhenuka and Gardabha, and they tried to kill the Lord at every opportunity. But one after another, all of them were killed by the Lord as if He were only playing with dolls. Children play with toy lions, elephants, boars and many similar dolls, which are broken by the children in the course of their playing with them."
.

ADVERSARY?

It is not possible for anyone to really be a serious adversary of Lord Krishna.

"Because it is not possible to be a bona fide rival of the Lord, the King of Cedi was extremely malicious toward Lord Kṛṣṇa." SB3.2.19 purport

Sisupala saw Lord Krishna but he saw Him as an enemy. After all Sisupala wanted to marry Rukmini and Lord Krishna kidnapped her. That was a tough one to take for a proud kshatriya king.

Since it was not possible for Sisupala to actually be of an real danger to Lord Krishna he simply developed a malicious attitude. He stood up at the Rajasuya sacrifice and spoke ill of Lord Krishna as if Lord Krishna were an ordinary person with questionable family background and no good qualities. That was about all that Sisupala could really do to try to hurt the Lord. Sisupala had already been defeated militarily when he tried to stop the Lord from taking Rukmini away.

Sisupala was killed by the Lord. At the moment of Sisupala's death everyone present saw a light leave Sisupala's body and enter the body of Lord Krishna. He attained liberation. He was Krishna conscious but he was not appreciative of the Lord... His pastimes, His activities, His associates, etc. so he couldn't go to any of the planets in the spiritual sky. But he could be allowed to reside in the brahmajyoti.

Yogis and jnanis strive with great efforts to enter the brahmajyoti. It is the goal of their meditation, sacrifices, austerities, mantras, etc. Sisupala entered by having an unfavorable, malicious attitude towards the Personality of Godhead.

"It is a fact that persons who are trying to understand the Supreme Truth by their personal endeavors of mental speculation or mystic powers of yoga achieve the same goal as others who are personally killed by the Lord." SB 3.2.19 purport

Somehow all these jnanis, yogis and demons must all have something in common. It would have to be that they do not have a favorable attitude of appreciation, just for starters at least some appreciation, of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
